Along with nursery schools, private day nurseries and other providers, we follow the practice guidance for the Early Years Foundation Stage.
The Early Years Foundation Stage is set by the Government for education and skills. Children still “learn through play” but with added interaction from staff members involving structured and unstructured activities.
These activities are covered in our weekly plan including all seven areas of learning which are:
- Communication and language
- Physical development
- Personal, social and emotional development
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the world
- Expressive arts and design
All of these seven areas are also worked into our group/target time on a daily basis.
